ICT enabled classrooms with digitally literate teachers to communicate, create and disseminate information for an impactful learning of the students.

Auditorium with good acoustic system

A well-equipped auditorium with seating capacity for 300 people serves as the venue for the regular conferences, workshops, seminars, parent teachers’ meet, Intercollegiate cultural fests and recreational activities of the students. It is equipped with premium sound quality for voice and music, delivering crisp tones and clarity to sound to every member of the seated audience.

Library and Information Centre

The library has over 29827 books for the use of students and staff. It has also subscribed to Seven National, One International and Online Journals and has also subscribed to Fourteen Monthly/Weekly magazines and Eleven Newspapers both in Kannada and English to cater the needs of the readers of the library. Faculty members and Students can also access the e-journals and e-books through resource sharing network Inflibnet N List. Here they can access more than 1 lakh e-books and 600 e-journals. They can login this with password and username given by the college.

The library is partially computerized. To make the functioning of the library easy and effective, college library has installed the Easy Lib Software. The software consists of various models like Acquisition, Cataloguing, Circulation, OPAC and so on. The Six Computers in the library have internet facility. Efforts are being taken to make the library completely automated through ILMS in due course.

New arrival of books and journals are displayed on separate stands and racks. The books are Indexed subject wise/Semester wise in the rack. The library has Open Access System. The dedicated staff will help the readers to find required books. OPAC System is available in the library and contains all the details of books (i.e., Author, Title, Publishers, location with rack details). With the help of this, readers can search their books. Upon an enquiry, the Librarian will help them to get the book required. Library staff are always eager to serve the readers.

Facilities (Services) Available
  • “Week End Issue”- To improve the reading habit of the students and boosting the knowledge, books from general collection like novels, short-stories will be issued to all eligible members on weekend.
  • Reference Service - Library houses all important knowledge boosting sources like General Encyclopaedia, Subject Encyclopaedia, both subject and general dictionaries, Year Books and Competitive Exam books (Bank, IAS, KAS, MBA.) and so on. The library has a good collection of self-help books.
  • Clipping Services - Newspaper clippings, useful articles will be filed separately for the reference and record.
  • Information Display and Notification Service - The useful Newspaper articles and Notices will be displayed regularly on the notice board placed outside the library.
  • Photocopy and Printing Service - Library provides this service at a reasonable cost of Rs 1/- per page
  • Internet Service - Staff and Students can access internet in the library for free of cost.
  • Career/Employment Information Services - Library has collection of competitive exam books and the “Employment News” and other daily News Papers to help them get the information about the job opportunities.
  • Information Literacy Programme through P.P.T - Every year during the time of distributing the borrower’s card to first year student, they will be informed about the usage of the library, rules/regulations/procedures about the books, journals and non-book materials through PPT in the library.

Audio Visual Room

Audio visual room with laptop, projector with podium, and a public address system is well maintained for seminars, workshops, competitions, guest lectures and other activities.

Computer Lab

The college has two computer labs where certificate courses, video conferencing and placement trainings are conducted.

Browsing Centre

Browsing Centre facilitates the computing and communication services to the faculty members, and students. As part of learning process, students have access to computers for their assignments or project work.

Business Lab

The Business laboratory helps students to practice their theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom. Mock commerce and business activities are carried out in laboratory.

English Language Lab

English Language Lab provides a technological aid for learning language. It has advanced facilities that can help a student to learn a language with proficiency to communicate. CALL- Computer Assisted Language Laboratory and WALL- Web Assisted Language Laboratory.

Sports and Gymnasium

Variety of indoor and outdoor sports competitions are held for the students to develop interest in sports. Students are provided with gymnasium facility for fitness.Sports activities release the pent up energy in the students. It helps the students to reach higher heights in academics and personal development. Skills like team- work, leadership, self-confidence, time management, ability of thinking in critical situations etc., will also be honed through sports. Variety of indoor and outdoor sports competitions is held for the students to develop interest in sports. Intercollegiate Throw ball Tournament is conducted every year in the campus. Students are provided with gymnasium facility for fitness.

National Service Scheme(NSS) Room

NSS Room is allotted for independent effective functioning to increase levels of social awareness by getting students involved in activities that address individual and community needs. NSS offers opportunities for personal growth and character development through community service.

Common Room

A Common Room facility is provided for the students to spend their leisure time. The students can utilise the room to take rest during health issues.

Canteen

The college has a canteen managed by a woman entrepreneur. Tasty and hygienically prepared breakfast, lunch, snacks are provided along with beverages. The food is provided at a special subsidized rate.

Reprography facility

Reprography Facility is provided for the students in the library for better access to literary materials, allowing students to reproduce required material from books and newspapers.

CCTV Servelliance

Basic Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) is used to ensure safety of the inmates at VVNDC, which consists of one or more video cameras that transmit video and audio images to a set of monitors or video recorders.

Sanitary Napkin Vending Machine and Incinerator

This machine has the following features:

  1. It is Automatic and user friendly.
  2. It is coin operated and has battery backup.
  3. There is Privacy and Independence to procure sanitary napkins
  4. Round the clock available.
  5. No more stress or embarrassment.
  6. Solid Waste Incinerator for electronic disposal of napkins.

Parking Facility

Parking facility for two wheelers is provided under the supervision of the Security guards of the institution. Separate place is reserved for parking vehicles of specially challenged.

Fire Extinguishers

The safety of the students is of the utmost concern at V.V.N. Institution. All the floors are equipped with fire extinguishers, which are to be used in the event of a fire.

Counselling Centre

Students Counselling System to support students in the effective management of problems and challenges ranging from anxiety, stress, fear of change and failure to home sickness and a few of academic worries. It bridges the formal as well as communicative gaps between the students and the institution at large.

Healthcare Centre

College health-service is equipped with first aid, thermometer, a bed and table. Students are given first aid and are made to take rest in case of mild health issues.

Career Guidanece and Placement Cell

The CAREER GUIDANCE AND PLACEMENT CELL organizes placement drive, workshops, mock interviews, soft skills, communicative skills, personality development, resume writing, video conference and leadership skills to the students.

Alumni Corner

To stay connected with the institution and fellow alumni, a room is allotted for Alumni members meetings.

Student Welfare Officer's(SWO) Room

Student Council activities are discussed and scheduled here. The preparation for the literary and cultural activities is done under the guidance of Student Welfare Officer.

Wifi Enabled Campus

V.V.N. Degree College provides an even Internet access for all the students and teachers. All the users share equal amount of bandwidth and internet speeds.

Lift Facility

The Lift facility is provided only for the staff members and the divyangajan (specially-abled students). The Lift provides speedy movement to the different floors of the college.

Support for PWD's

Parking facility, lift facility, Wheel chair, specially challenged friendly wash rooms, counselling on academic and personal levels, Braille books and audio books, teacher counsellor and guide, ramps and lift facility. Guidance is provided to avail scholarships and other benefits extended by Government/ University and NGO’s.

Vehicle facility

College facilitates the teachers and students with vehicle facility for office duty. Vehicle facility can also be availed during medical emergency.

Astro Turf Ground

Inter College Throw Ball Tournament, open exhibition cum sale to promote entrepreneurship and other activities are organised on the Astro Turf Ground. The ground provides dust free, eco-friendly and player safety benefits to the students.

Facility for Divyangajan

Parking facility, Ramps and Lift facility, Wheel chair, Specially-challenged friendly wash rooms, Braille books and Audio books, Nonvisual Desktop Access (NVDA) on computers for easy access.

Day Care Centre

Supervision of and care for children of teachers, administrative staff and married students is provided during the working hours at Day Care Centre.

Vertical Gardening

Vertical Gardening is the pride of VVNDC which proclaims that space constraints need not be a hurdle for nurturing your love for “green”. The students have taken the initiative under the leadership of Ms. Geetanjali to build a Vertical garden wherever space permits.
