Research Cell
The Research Cell endorses research activity among the faculty members by consistently encouraging them through creating a research ambience. The Cell encourages the faculty members to enrol for M.Phil and Ph.D programmes and also take up eligibility test NET/SLET for academic excellence. Publication of research articles in UGC notified journals as well as Conference proceedings with ISSN or ISNB numbers is encouraged. The Cell also supports attending and presenting papers at National and International conferences/seminars.
The Cell also encourages the students to participate and present papers in National and International seminars. Our students have won BEST PAPER PRESENTATION awards for their paper presentation at national and international level conferences.
The Research cell has organized two State Level seminars on “Safety of Women” in 2016-17 and “Digitalisation of India” in 2017-18.

To cultivate an interest in research among staff and students.

- To encourage teachers and students to participate in State/National/ International Seminars and Conferences.
- To encourage teachers and students to present and publish papers.
- To encourage teachers to register for doctoral studies.
- To provide infrastructure facilities for research-oriented work.
- To promote Institute-Industry interaction.

UGC Research Practices
Inflibnet
The Project entitled "National Library and Information Services Infrastructure for Scholarly Content (N-LIST)", being jointly executed by the E-Shod Sindhu Consortium, INFLIBNET Centre and the INDEST-AICTE Consortium, IIT Delhi provides for:
- cross-subscription to e-resources subscribed by the two Consortia, i.e., subscription to INDEST-AICTE resources for universities and e-Shod Sindhu resources for technical institutions;
- access to selected e-resources to colleges.
The N-LIST project provides access to e-resources to students, researchers and faculty from colleges and other beneficiary institutions through server(s) installed at the INFLIBNET Centre.
The approved users from Colleges can access e-resources and download articles required by them directly from the publisher's website once they are duly authenticated as authorized users through servers deployed at the INFLIBNET Centre.
V.V.N. DEGREE COLLEGE is authorized to use the resources through INFLIBNET. All the Faculty Members and Students are given access with a user name and password.
Library
Library as a Learning Resource
The library has over 29827 books for the use of students and staff. It has also subscribed to Seven National, One International and One Online Journal for the year 2019-20 with back volumes from the year 2005 and has also subscribed to Fourteen Monthly/Weekly magazines and Eleven Newspapers both in Kannada and English to cater the needs of the readers of the library. Faculty members and Students can also access the e-journals and e-books through resource sharing network Inflibnet N List. Here they can access more than 1 lakh e-books and 600 e-journals. They can login this with password and username given by the college.
To make the functioning of the library easy and effective, college library has installed the Easy Lib Software. The software consists of various models like Acquisition, Cataloguing, Circulation, OPAC and so on. The Six Computers in the library have internet facility.
New arrival of books and journals are displayed on separate stands and racks. The books are Indexed subject wise/Semester wise in the rack. The library has Open Access System. The dedicated staff will help the readers to find required books. OPAC System is available in the library and contains all the details of books (i.e., Author, Title, Publishers, location with rack details). With the help of this, readers can search their books. Upon an enquiry, the Librarian will help them to get the book required. Library staff are always eager to serve the readers.
