Waste generated in the campus is segregated as e-waste, liquid waste /organic and solid waste.
Separate bins are also kept in all floors for solid waste, organic waste and liquid waste.
Students are asked to dispose waste, only in the designated bins.
All classes, departments and classrooms and other rooms are provided with dustbins for dry wastage which are emptied every evening.
Solid Waste Management
Solid waste is collected and segregated in two separate bins as dry & wet waste.
Dry waste which mainly involves plastic and paper is collected in separate dustbins and handed over to rag picker who sells it to recycling centre and earns a living out of the trash.
Daily garbage is collected by housekeeping personnel and handed over to BBMP garbage vehicle.
Liquid Waste Management
The Sewage water from the entire campus is received through the underground pipe lines.
All waste water lines from toilets; bathrooms etc. are connected to Municipal drainage mains.
E-Waste Management
Old machines not properly functioning are replaced under buy-back system.
All electronic equipment used in the campus are regularly maintained and repaired to ensure minimum e-waste.
The e-waste generated from hardware which cannot be reused or recycled is being disposed through government authorized vendors.
Waste Recycling System
Single sided used papers are reused for writing and printing in all departments.
Part of the Wet waste is reused for vermin compost and organic compost. The manure generated is used for plants on the campus.
The cartridges of printers are refilled on need base.
UPS Batteries are recharged and repaired by the suppliers.
