Waste Management

  • Waste is segregated as per BBMP guidelines.
  • Waste generated in the campus is segregated as e-waste, liquid waste /organic and solid waste.
  • Separate bins are also kept in all floors for solid waste, organic waste and liquid waste.
  • Students are asked to dispose waste, only in the designated bins.
  • All classes, departments and classrooms and other rooms are provided with dustbins for dry wastage which are emptied every evening.

Solid Waste Management

  • Solid waste is collected and segregated in two separate bins as dry & wet waste.
  • Dry waste which mainly involves plastic and paper is collected in separate dustbins and handed over to rag picker who sells it to recycling centre and earns a living out of the trash.
  • Daily garbage is collected by housekeeping personnel and handed over to BBMP garbage vehicle.

Liquid Waste Management

  • The Sewage water from the entire campus is received through the underground pipe lines.
  • All waste water lines from toilets; bathrooms etc. are connected to Municipal drainage mains.

E-Waste Management

  • Old machines not properly functioning are replaced under buy-back system.
  • All electronic equipment used in the campus are regularly maintained and repaired to ensure minimum e-waste.
  • The e-waste generated from hardware which cannot be reused or recycled is being disposed through government authorized vendors.

Waste Recycling System

  • Single sided used papers are reused for writing and printing in all departments.
  • Part of the Wet waste is reused for vermin compost and organic compost. The manure generated is used for plants on the campus.
  • The cartridges of printers are refilled on need base.
  • UPS Batteries are recharged and repaired by the suppliers.

Security
