Entertainment & Inter College Competitions Committee

Objectives

To promote and arrange extracurricular activities, and to bring out the talents of students in the various art forms.

Functions
  • To arrange for cultural programs during college events.
  • To train and send students for intercollegiate cultural and literary competitions.

National Service Scheme (NSS)

Management Fest Committee

Objectives
  • To promote healthy competition.

Functions
  • Scheduling a meeting to finalize date of the event, number of events to be conducted.
  • To finalize judges for the events.
  • To make Committees of faculties and assign roles and responsibilities.
  • To make Committees of student volunteers.
  • Preparation of brochure, banner, posters and circulation of the same to various colleges.
  • To make necessary arrangements such as badges, refreshment, decoration, honouring of guest and judges, certificates, cash prizes...

Anti-Ragging Committee

Objectives

To generate an atmosphere of discipline by sending a clear message that no act of ragging shall be tolerated and any act of ragging shall not go unnoticed and unpunished.

Functions
  • To publicize to all the student’s prevalent directives and the actions that can be taken against those indulging in ragging.
  • To keep a continuous watch and vigil over ragging so as to prevent its occurrence and recurrence.
  • To consider the complaints received from the students and conducting enquiry and taking suitable actions.
  • Conducting workshops against ragging menace and orient the students.
  • To offer services of counselling.
  • To take all necessary measures for prevention of Ragging among students.

Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee

Objectives
  • To provide a work environment that ensures every female student/women employee is treated with dignity and respect and afforded equitable treatment.
  • Cell is committed to promote a work environment that is conducive to the professional growth of its female student /women employees and encourage equity of opportunity.
  • Cell will not tolerate any form of sexual harassment and is committed to take all necessary steps to ensure that its female student/women employees are not subjected to any form of harassment.
Functions
  • Cell is responsible for investigating every formal written complaint of sexual harassment.
  • Cell will take appropriate measures to respond to any substantiated allegation of sexual harassment.
  • Discouraging and preventing sexual harassment.
  • To educate the safety measures to students.

Career Guidance & Placement Cell

Objectives
  • To enhance the employability skills of the students.
  • Provide career guidance.
  • Act as an interface between the prospective employer and students.
  • To achieve 100% placement every year.
Functions
  • Maintain student data base of outgoing students.
  • Analyse the skill level of the students and arrange for required training to improve the skill.
  • Organize career counselling sessions.
  • Inform students about the placement activities.
  • Takes care of corporate training and placements.
  • This cell provides career guidance and counselling for the final year students by organizing career guidance seminars, and placements drive to help them secure a good job.

Women Cell

Objectives
  • To create and maintain safe, healthy and supportive environment for women and girl students in the campus.
  • To provide forum for educating women on their rights and empowerment of women.
  • To incorporate hygiene habits and ensure a healthy atmosphere in and around the college.
Functions
  • A function of the cell is to safeguard the rights of female students, faculty and staff members.
  • The conducts guest lectures/seminars/workshops on woman’s rights and women safety and other activities.

Yoga Committee

Business Laboratory

Objectives
  • Business Laboratory aims at training the students in enhancing the practical knowledge through business lab activities.
  • The lab is equipped with computers with internet facility to help the students carry on practical projects and assignments.
Functions
  • To enhance practical knowledge among the students.
  • To train the students to face practical situations.
  • To put theoretical knowledge into practical use through business lab activities.
  • To incorporate practical aspects of the subjects so the students may involve in experiential learning.

Electoral Literacy Club

Objectives

To strengthen the culture of electoral participation among young and future voters.

Functions
  • ELC is platform to engage students through interesting activities and hands on experience to sensitize them on their electoral rights and familiarise them with the electoral process of registration and voting.
  • To organise talks / skits / collage and other activities to educate and spread awareness of importance of voting.

Grievance Cell

Objectives
  • To create a harmonious and friendly problem free environment.
  • Students with a genuine grievance may approach the staff members in person, or in consultation with the officer in-charge. In case the person is unwilling to appear in self, grievance may be dropped in writing at the letterbox/suggestion box in the college block.
Functions
  • Encouraging the students to express their grievances/problems freely and frankly, without any fear of being victimized.
  • To look into complaints lodged, matters of harassment lodged by any student.
  • Judge its merit and provide appropriate solutions.

The college has formed a Grievance Redressal Cell for faculty, Staff and students to address their complaints and grievances to resolve them. The Principal is the head of this cell and other mechanism to deal with it as follows. After receiving grievances and complaints, either in writing or orally, the committee discusses in the meeting and resolves. There is a separate Anti-Sexual Harassment committee, which object is to prevent cases of harassment and to look into grievances of girl students. Anti-Ragging committee is also formed to work on the cases related to ragging, if any.

Eco Club

Objectives

Breath with Green.

  • Educate and Equip students with Eco friendly practices and activities towards preservation and enhancement of environment.
Functions
  • To impart knowledge on concept of Eco-system.
  • To involve young learners in efforts to preserve environment.
  • To create a clean and green consciousness among students.
  • The main objectives of the club are to create awareness of environmental issues, such as protection, conservation, preservation with an emphasis on educating and empowering students.

Vision Club

Objectives
  • The Cine Club aims at educating students through Films.
  • The Club makes arrangements for the screening of famous movies. It organizes screenings of art movies and invites artists for college programmes.

Scribe Bank

Objectives
  • Visually-challenged students have unique learning needs which need to be addressed to make them independent, productive citizens.
  • Through Scribe Bank supportive activities are initiated to empower visually-challenged students studying in V.V.N. as well as in other colleges.
Functions
  • Rendering Scribe service to write university as well as competitive exams.
  • Organizing cultural events to showcase the talent of visually-challenged.
  • Volunteering for events that are conducted for the visually challenged to assist them.

Mentorship and Personal Counselling

Forty-three students are allotted to each faculty member (Mentor/Mentee), who will, in turn, observe the development of these 43 students, give counselling if required, observe the attendance, and communicate with the parents periodically if needed to discuss the progress of the students.

The outcome of mentoring is seen in the increased number of students opting for higher education or seeking employment which was found in less number earlier.

Student Council

College has a very organized and democratically elected Student Council. Besides this, student representatives are nominated for all the committees of the college. Class representatives are elected by students of each class. Student Council body consists of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Sports Secretary.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Student Council

  • To officially represent all the students in the institution.
  • To identify and help in solving problems encountered by students in the institution.
  • To communicate student’s opinion to the college administration on any subject related to the students.
  • To promote and encourage the involvement of students in organizing activities.
  • To promote the interest of students among the stakeholders of the institution.
  • To work as consultant among students for any issue of importance.
  • To organize educational and recreational activities for students.
  • To take up innovative initiatives.

Class representatives

Class representatives are elected by the class (two from each class/section).

  • To communicate the ideas and needs of specific Class to the Executive members of the Students’ Council.
  • To communicate the student council activities and actions to their designated Class.
  • To aid in the organization of educational and recreational activities proposed by the council.
  • To report any matters to the executive members of the concerned dept/school that affect the class.

Annual Health Checkup

  • Annual Health Check up is conducted in association with Lion’s Club.
  • Blood Donation drive, Eye Check up are also organised on the same day.
